The Lehi Arts Council is pleased to announce some great holiday events for families! We'll kick off the season with two great shows that have become Lehi traditions:
In A Tuna Christmas, a fantastic and funny two-man cast tells about Christmas happenings in the fictional town of Tuna, Texas. It runs selected nights November 25-December 3, and tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for students/seniors.
The children's classic The Best Christmas Pageant Ever is a hilarious and heartwarming show that's lots of fun for both kids and adults. It will run selected nights December 9-19 and all tickets are just $5. Bring the whole family!
The famous Lehi Silver Band will host its annual Christmas Concert on December 21st at 7:00. This is a great opportunity for families to get in the Christmas spirit, and admission is FREE! Seating will be limited, so come early.
Our Children's Workshops will begin again on January 23rd! We offer great classes in theatre, art, music and more. For enrollment information and show tickets, please visit our website at www.lehicityarts.org

Get Healthy Week a Success!
I hope everyone enjoyed "Get Healthy Week" as much as I did!
Monday was Hat Day to Put a cap on Sugar.
Tuesday was Sport Jersey Day to Team up to get Active.
Wednesday was Yellow Day to Think Happy.
Thursday was Crazy Hair Day because were Crazy about being Healthy.
I brought my camera and captured just a few of the creative hairdos.
Mrs. Spencer and Mrs. Chavez
(In case you're wondering, there's a 2 liter soda bottle under all that hair.)
Mrs. Wood our lovely librarian.
A great use of sporting equipment.
The students were asked to commit to a healthy lifestyle. Several teachers had them write their pledges. I will try to post a few next week.
Friday was the Walk-a-thon.
Amazingly, the weather cooperated and we were able to have both sessions outside. We ended up walking around the perimeter of the school since the back field was too wet. The kids walked for close to 45 minutes. We think each lap was close to 1/4 mile.
The highlight of the event was having the Chick-fil-A Cows join us. They helped lead stretches at the beginning and walked with and cheered on the students during both session. Thanks to the manager of the American Fork Store for allowing them to come and providing the class with the most donations a lunch party next week.
The skies were threatening but we never had more than a sprinkle.
Thanks to the many volunteers and teachers that marked lap cards and help make this event a success.
Monday we will announce the winner of the Chick-fil-A lunch party.
Draw for the Boy & Girl scooter.
And pass out playground balls to the students with the top lap totals from each class.
Thanks to Box Tops for Education Family Fitness Night Program for donating the balls.
Thanks again everyone. Can't wait to do it again next year.

Walk-a-thon Update
At this moment it's not raining. We are still hoping to have the Walk-a-thon outside. If the field is too wet we may be on the sidewalks/blacktop around the school. If it's raining we will have to bring it inside and make some changes. Let's hope we don't have to resort to that.
See schedule below in previous post. Parents are welcome to come walk with their students. If we have to move inside times will change and we will not have room for families to join us. Thanks for your patience as we deal with Mother Nature.
Don't forget to send in donation packets!

Teacher Appreciation Week
“We’re WILD About Our Teachers”
May 2nd-6th
It’s that special time of year when we honor our amazing
teachers for their commitment in education. As the PTA, we
will be providing daily recognition to every teacher. They will
be treated to a special lunch celebration on Tuesday. And every teacher
will be presented with a small gift of gratitude at the end of the
week. We are asking our fantastic Room Mom's to assist in
decorating their teacher’s door and they may choose to have
additional celebration activities planned for their class.
Additional gifts from the class/students are optional.
(Remember a note of sincere thanks goes along way)
